Sheathing is one of the most basic and widely used applications for rigid expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation in residential and commercial construction. It helps create an envelope around the structure covering wall cavities and studs to increase resistance to heat transfer and moisture penetration. Due to its versatility, ease of installation and consistent performance benefits, rigid EPS insulating sheathing is a standard in the industry.

Amvic has recently introduced SilveRboard a reflective aluminum foil lamination to the rigid EPS insulation board to increase the resistance of radiant heat absorption. When a radiant barrier is combined with dead air space, it can actually add to the insulation value of the wall assembly.

IKO Ener-Air insulation board is a lightweight insulation made at a state-of-the-art ISO 9001-2008 registered manufacturing facility. A coated glass fiber facer is laminated onto the board top and bottom, making it breathable.KO Ener-Air offers a thermal resistance of approximately 6 per inch to improve the energy-efficiency of walls and ceilings.
